Your mom is in a better position to make this decision, because she knows who these people are. In general, though, a guy who didn't talk to you until you were 13 is not likely to turn into father of the year. Talk to your mom. It might be nice to meet all the relatives. Just don't get a bunch of fantasies into your head about how warm and cuddly it's going to be - because that probably won't happen.
