Oakland BART shooting verdict? More of a race issue?

Living near Oakland, I feel that race does have an impact. And that the verdict was wrong, but they had to find him guilty of something, otherwise the majority of the city would go insane and protest everything, and as it is, they probably will. If it was a white officer killing a white officer, it wouldn't have been such a big deal, and the other way around too. Also not trying to be racist here, it just seems to be true
