How can i tell if this boy likes me?

when i am with my two friends at recess he comes up to us and starts talking to us. he randomly says hi to me. in gym he tells me i have a good serve and i am the best player on the volleyball team. at a school dance he said lets dance but i dont know if he was talking to me or my friends. be really honest please! thx!
