Is it just me or is Tyler Perry not funny at all?

I am a black man, and most black people that I know love all things Tyler Perry. Whether it's Madea movies, House of Payne, etc etc. I listen to the Steve Harvey show everyday on the way to work and I swear that Tyler Perry is like the gospel for blacks. I tried watching House of Payne and it sucks so bad, every cheesy joke is followed with a laugh track. I watched Madea goes to Jail with my slave and it was just lame as can be..maybe I just don't get it. So does anybody else just not get Tyler Perry and agree that he's not funny?
